Fire Department Jobs

FIRE CHIEF - POP 3,881.  Accepting applications for Fire Chief with the Beaufort Fire Dept. consisting of 13 full time, 5 part time and a compliment of volunteers with an annual budget of approximately $850,000.  Seeking a visionary, innovative leader who must be able to build and maintain positive working relationships with citizens, staff and elected officials.  Must possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate ability to work effectively with other dept. heads as part of the Town's management team.  Must have at least 5 years of fire service and 3 years in mid/upper level management/supervisory role.  Should have combination and experience equivalent to an associates degree in fire science or related field, supplemented by advanced courses in fire admin. and considerable experience in fire operations.  Must possess class B NCDL, NC level II firefighter, hazmat, level 1 fire inspector and NC emergency medical technician certification.  Fire instructor certification preferred, but not required.  Salary DOQ.  (Currently not accepting applications).
